Welcome to the Multicultural Family Abroad’s first blog post!

Welcome to our blog! We are so happy you are here, sharing this journey with us.

Let’s start with some brief introductions - We are Mohamed and Rochelle, we have two young children (Rayan and Noah), and currently live in Luxembourg (I say “currently” because our future location is always a popular conversation topic within our family.) I am actually writing this blog post from our Airbnb in Alexandria, Egypt!

We are both struck by a bad case of wanderlust and want to share our love of travel with our kids (and you!). Mohamed is originally from Egypt, Rochelle is from Brasil, we met in Dubai, moved to the United States (where both of our children were born), and then relocated to Luxembourg in the summer of 2021.

Between the four of us, we have nine valid passports and have visited more than 30 countries. We love exploring new places, tasting new foods, and experiencing a different culture.

We look forward to sharing more about our family experiences, how we navigate blending cultural differences, and what being a multicultural family abroad is really like.
